| Movie Review: All About My Mother Story: A more mature Spanish director Pedro
Almodovar (who won Best Director this year at Cannes for this
wonderful film...remember Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown?)
brilliantly delivers a tribute to women filled with wisdom, passion
and humor. With a background of American classics such as Streetcar
Named Desire and All About Eve, we are lovingly introduced to a
group of women that include a grieving mother who just lost her 17 year
old son, a pregnant nun, transsexuals, junkies and lesbians. These three
dimensional characters' lives entwine, enfold and develop in layers
that buoy their resilience, dependence, support and ultimate life triumphs.
Acting: The entire ensemble cast is fabulous. I cried,
I laughed and I cheered with all of the characters.
Visual Art: Crayola colors galore! A visually dynamic
treat.
Pets: one dog
