| Movie Review: Beautiful People
Story: First time film director Jasmin Dizdar
fled to England in 1989. His first hand experience with the insanity
of war brings us this slice of life/quasi-comedy. Six stories, with
many characters are juxtaposed in a jiggly (a little annoying) manner,
but this technique emphasizes (I guess) the randomness of life's occurrences,
fate and how very often people rise to life's challenges in an unexpected
manner. The movie takes place in England so there is always the underlying
story of class but more importantly we see the changing demographic
of the people of the Europe (and also here).
Acting: There are many stereotypes but when there are
so many stories I think this helps.
