Movie Review: Election

Story: A biting social satire about a high school election for Student Government President and the kinds of people who run for office and why. It is also about the people peripherally associated with the election and last, but not least, let us not forget the electorate. Oh my!

Acting: Reese Witherspoon (think a blend of The Bad Seed and Gidget) is terrific as the perky, over achieving wannabe President, Matthew Broderick (think Ferris Bueller all grown up to become his sister) as the guidance counselor who tries to influence the election (and more) and a fine supporting cast of geeks, teachers, parents, school janitors, jocks, and confused teenagers.
